North-East Rural Livelihoods Project (NERLP) is implemented by the ministry of development of North Eastern region with a objective to to improve rural livelihoods, especially that of women, unemployed youths and the most disadvantaged, in the participating North-Eastern States. This is a world bank funded scheme in which Financial assistance would be through International Development Association (IDA)


There are four components to the project.

  1. Social Empowerment
  2. Economic Empowerment
  3. Partnership Development
  4. Project Management.


The main beneficiaries of the scheme are women SHG members and unemployed youth in the North Eastern Region.
